Artist Bio

Alexa Toribio is a fine artist based in Houston, Texas. She earned a degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University, where her studies focused on the retail world. She obtained exposure to the fashion industry through experiences such as attending New York Fashion Week and the National Retail Federation.

A self taught artist from a young age, she works primarily in realism, painting from personal observations in daily life that grow into larger ideas. Alongside her painting, she also works in modeling, an experience that helps her understanding of form and visual storytelling.

Artist Statement

As an artist i’ve always been drawn to realism. I am inspired by scenes I capture in my daily life or things that have meaning to me. Regardless of what I paint it’s my goal to get it as close to the reference as possible. My current series explores adding in elements of trompe l’oeil to pieces with the goal of deception.
